On November 13, more than 500 residents of Sabirabad gathered in the park named after Heydar Aliyev to attend the foundation laying ceremony of the Heydar Aliyev Center. Opening the event with a speech, Chairman of the Sabirabad regional branch of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), Nadir Guliyev, congratulated the participants on the 20th anniversary of the party and called the foundation laying of the Center an important event on the eve of the jubilee.During the event, YAP veteran Salamulla Abdullayev and young teacher Sadiq Mammadov emphasized that the construction of the Heydar Aliyev Center reflects the respect and love of the people of Sabirabad for Heydar Aliyev’s legacy.Member of YAP’s Political Council and Head of the District Executive Authority, Nazim Ismayilov, delivered a speech highlighting the immortal ideas of the National Leader of our nation, Heydar Aliyev. He stated that the path gifted to us by the Great Leader is an honorable and bright one, and that our respected President Ilham Aliyev continues to lead us toward greater victories along this path.At the end of his speech, he said: “We are morally indebted to our great leader. It is our duty to study his legacy — and study it thoroughly. Today, the foundation is being laid for a sacred building that will become a cherished and respected place for everyone who loves their homeland and nation.”Then, with the blessing of Mir Hamid Agha, the heir of the Seyid Rasul Agha spiritual house, the foundation of the Center was laid.The construction area of the Center is 1,220 square meters, and the total area is 3,600 square meters. The new building’s foyer will feature a bust of the National Leader, and will include a museum dedicated to his life and work, a 250-seat conference hall, an electronic library, 9 rooms for various creative groups, as well as work and service offices. The entire park will be redeveloped. The Center is planned to be inaugurated on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birth.
