Nizami Ganjavi Museum in Ganja City

The construction of the new building of the Nizami Ganjavi Museum began in 2012 and was completed and opened to the public in 2014. The museum was built on the territory of the Nizami Mausoleum. The museum features exhibits reflecting the life and work of the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi, ancient manuscripts, and illustrations inspired by the “Khamsa” (Quintet). Based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, dated December 23, 2011, “On the celebration of the 870th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi,” the museum displays photo materials from international jubilee events held in Ganja, Baku, and abroad.
