This play tells a story of love and betrayal, hope and despair, belief in principles, and confidence in impunity. It portrays the heartbreaking love story of Aydın and Gültekin, destroyed by the harsh social conditions of a simple working family and the unscrupulousness of the wealthy Dowlat Bey, who believes that money can buy anything in this world. Unable to bear the shame, Gültekin drinks poison and dies with the words "forgive for love." In the play, the omnipotent power of money is contrasted with the wealth of the spiritual world.
