The international center of mugham is located in Baku, on the territory of Primorsky Boulevard.
Created according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated April 6, 2005. The architects are Vahid Gasymoglu Tansu and Khaniddin Uyak Etirne Ahmed.
In August of the same year, in Baku, on the territory of the coastal national park, Ilham Aliyev, his wife, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva and UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura laid the foundation stone for the complex.
